Rest assured, the trail is well-maintained, and while it is not marked with blazes and has very few signs, the path is clear and easy to follow. Roughly 0.1 miles from the summit, you will intersect with the trail from Cashiers, accompanied by signs to guide you on your way.
Why Visit?

Important Reminders:
Pack It In, Pack It Out: Let’s keep Yellow Mountain pristine! There has been an increase in litter beneath the tower, posing a risk to the surrounding woods. Please carry out all trash to ensure that this beautiful spot remains enjoyable for all.
Stay On Trail: Help preserve the beauty of Yellow Mountain by sticking to the trail. There have been instances of shortcuts and corner-cutting, which damage the surrounding area. Let’s respect and protect the trail and its natural beauty.
Be Weather-Wise: Given its elevated location, the mountaintop can be quite windy, and weather conditions can change rapidly. Ensure you are adequately prepared with the right clothing to stay comfortable.
Stay Connected: Before embarking on your journey, inform someone of your plans. While the hike is not lengthy, it’s always better to be safe and let someone know your whereabouts.
Note that while there is Verizon service along the trail, coverage may vary based on your provider.

Yellow Mountain Fire Tower offers a spectacular outdoor experience, combining stunning views, a well-maintained trail, and the serenity of nature. Pack your bags, wear your adventure hat, and set out on this scenic journey for a day filled with natural beauty and lasting memories. Enjoy the hike and cherish the views!
Directions:
Navigate your way to 199 Cloud Catcher Lane and you’ll find yourself on a gravel driveway. A word to the wise: the path is somewhat narrow, uphill, and features larger rocks, so a vehicle with ample ground clearance is advisable. Follow Cloud Catcher Lane for approximately 0.75 miles until you reach a dead end in the woods, where a small area is available for parking and turning around. It’s important to be mindful of the neighboring private properties and adhere to the “No Trespassing” signs to ensure a harmonious relationship with the local residents. The trailhead is conveniently located in the parking area, marked by a small US Forest Service sign, guiding you onto the Yellow Mountain Trail.
